The Board of Directors is the governing body of the not-for-profit organization that functions in the formal legal responsibility and full decision-making authority of the ForUsGirls Foundation organization. The board of directors accepts responsibility for the essential operation, strategic objectives, financial stewardship. The functions of the committee include hiring, firing, and monitoring the organization’s executive director (CEO) employees, consultants, and contractors. The Board of Directors is mandated to convene monthly with a set agenda and recorded meeting minutes. The term for a Board of Directors is one year with the opportunity for renewal at the description of the President of the organization

• Participate in Monthly meetings
• Contribute to the operation of the organization via a selected committee
• Provide monthly administrative and organizational tasks to the organization
• Respond to all ForUsGirls Foundation communications, preferably within 3 days 
• Resign from role whenever you are unable or unavailable to fulfill the duties of a Board of Directors.
• Establish identity and direction: contribute to the organization’s priorities adequately

• Adopt and revise a strategic plan and strategic direction for the organization for a minimum of 3 years.
• Ensure that the organization’s mission, vision, and values are reflected in the organization’s programs.
• Verify the organization’s strategic priorities adequately reflected in the annual budget

• Adopt policies to raise funds to support the mission of the organization
• Outline membership fees and fundraising objectives for the executive team and advisory board committees
• Recruit necessary members to the Board of Directors, Advisory Board and Executive team to reflect the strategic needs of the organization.
• Review the performance of the chief executive 

• Contract an outside auditor for the annual audit
• Create the organization up-to-date risk management policies and plans
• Monitor benchmarks and impact related to the organization’s programs
• A clear understanding of the organization’s financial health.
• Provide the chief executive receive an annual performance review by the board

• Assess its own performance
• Regularly review organizational and board policies 
• Tasks advisory board committees to actively engage board members in the work of the board
• Ensure board meeting agenda focus the board’s attention on issues of strategic importance
• Request ask for information to effectively make decisions.
