The ForUsGirls Foundation Emerging Young Global Leaders Project Funding Grants are to provide young womxn who complete the YGL Accelerator Program with seed funding to launch their community project or social business idea.
Young womxn who participate and complete the Emerging Young Global Leaders Accelerator Program (YGL) are considered priority applicants for the YGL Project Funding Grants. Non-participants of the YGL program are encouraged to apply. They will need to submit a project deck for the consideration of their application.
Young Leaders can apply for 1 one of the following streams:
$500 Art Related Projects
$750 - Community-Related Projects
$1000 - Social Business Projects
The ForUsGirls Emerging Young Global Leaders team will review all funding applications. Decisions will be made based on the young leader's readiness to launch their project, their ability to articulate how the funds will benefit their project and their community large, and their ability to execute their proposed plans. The ForUsGirls Foundation will publish successful funded projects on its website.
Successful grantees will need to submit a proposed budget from the provided template sent by the ForUsGirls Programs teams. Besides, offering a budget, successful applicants will need to sign a project funding agreement with the support of a parent or guardian. Grantees will receive 50% of their grant after the finalization of the project agreement form. All receipts will need to be submitted along with a midway project assessment review to receive the remaining 50% of the project grant. Grantees will be required to complete a final project review & impact form within 30 days of successfully launching their project.
This grant is made possible through the generous sponsorship from Shopify. We encourage other significant corporations, small-medium sized businesses ad organization to match or make a contribution to support young, BIPOC, womxn entrepreneurship and community activism.
This fund is not for towards personal items, expenses or own needs that solely benefit the applicant. If an individual is in demand, they are encouraged to complete our Community Support form to receive appropriate assistance for their personal need.
Black Girls Healing Through Wellness is a mental health group therapy program for Black and racialized young women and girls (trans and non-binary) ages 12-16 to address symptoms and experiences of anxiety & depression to create coping mechanisms and a mindfulness lifestyle.
